Women Helping Women
Founded in 1892, by women for women, The Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organization. We are proud to share that, more than 130 years later, The Woman’s Exchange mission remains steadfastly focused on helping women enhance their economic stability, promoting artisans and preserving and showing the historic Pena-Peck House Museum. As one of the few remaining Exchanges in the country, our continued success would not be possible without you — our supportive and generous community.
What We Do
Members of the Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine work to support The Peña-Peck House Museum and Gift Shop, give hand-crafters a venue for selling their unique products, and provide scholarships for deserving women over 30 enhancing their career skills. To accomplish our goals, we raise funds through donations, tours, gift shop sales, luncheons, weddings, receptions, educational programs and other special events.
Going Forward
As one of the oldest nonprofits in St. Augustine, The Woman’s Exchange is honored to serve our community. Over the last 20 plus years we have donated over $300,000 in scholarship money. Last year, the Woman’s Exchange proudly awarded 25 educational scholarships and continued to maintain the Peña-Peck House. We are very proud that 98% of our scholarship recipients graduate with advanced degrees. We look forward to continuing our philanthropy in the community.
